Molded panel

The door on most of the house.

Twenty openings in a house and eighteen of them are a molded panel door. This is the line that carries the volume of a house, and the one your team should be able to quote without opening a catalog.

Masonite molded panel and the designs your market already asks for, primed, hollow core, in the sizes builders ask for most. Prehung, bored, and labeled to your takeoff in our shops. Where a room wants something more than this, the MDF stile and rail line and the wood line pick up from here on the same order.

Options

What you can spec on it.

Each of these is an option in the portal, priced as you pick it, per opening or across the whole order.

Panel design Twelve designs across the Craftsman, Heritage and Classic Panel series. Most houses run one design throughout, which is also the cheapest way to buy it.
Core 1-3/8" hollow core is the volume build. Step to 1-3/8" solid core where a room wants the weight and the quiet, or 1-3/4" solid core for a 20 minute fire rating.
Smooth or textured Most designs come smooth. Classique and Colonist also come textured if the job wants a grain read under the paint.
Bore and hardware Passage, privacy and dummy prep, bored to your height and backset before the unit is staged. 44" on a 6/8, 46" or 48" on a 7/0, 60" on an 8/0.
Bifold closets Every molded design comes as a bifold from 2/0 through 6/0, off the same order as the swinging doors, so the whole order arrives together.
Casing and jamb package Casing profile and jamb depth with the doors, in finger jointed or stain grade pine, primed MDF or primed finger joint. Flat, single or double rabbeted, and split jambs where the wall needs them.
Questions we get

What dealers ask us.

Yes. Monroe, Richmond, and Albany carry the standard sizes, so most molded orders ship on a regular route. Check current availability with your rep before you promise a date.

Both. 1-3/8" hollow core is the volume build and it is right for closets and secondary openings. 1-3/8" solid core is there for bedrooms and baths, where a homeowner notices the weight of the door, and 1-3/4" solid core is what carries the 20 minute fire rating.

Yes, and it is common to run one design throughout and upgrade a few openings. Call the upgrades out per line on the takeoff and the portal prices them individually.

Primed as standard, on every design, so the painter can go straight to color.

The standard interior widths, and heights through eight foot on the taller designs. Send the takeoff and we will quote it.
