Twenty doors have to arrive as one order.

A house is not one interior door, it is a list of them. Every unit has to show up with the right size, hand, and bore, labeled for its opening. A wrong door has to be remade, and the opening sits until it is.

Tucker supplies molded panel, flush, MDF stile and rail, and solid wood interior doors, prehung and bored to the takeoff you send us. Molded panel carries most of the volume. MDF stile and rail is the paint-grade upgrade when the trim package is the point. Wood is for stain-grade and for the openings a designer specified. Barn door and pocket hardware, closet units, and double doors come off the same order.

Seven things to have on the takeoff.

An interior order is twenty small orders. Send these seven columns for every opening and the whole order goes through the Design Portal in one pass.

01 Opening size Width and height of each rough opening as framed. We size the jamb to it, one line per opening.
02 Handing and swing Left or right hand, and which way the door swings into the room. The single most common line to get wrong on an interior door order.
03 Jamb depth Set by the wall. Two by four and two by six walls take different jambs, and a plaster wall takes its own.
04 Design and material Panel design and material for each opening. Most houses run one design throughout and upgrade a few doors.
05 Core Hollow or solid core. Solid core is the upgrade people notice without knowing why, and it belongs on bedrooms and baths.
06 Bore and hardware Bore height and backset, and which openings are passage, privacy, or dummy. Barn and pocket openings get called out separately.
07 Casing and finish The casing profile the house is running, and whether the units ship primed or raw. Casing comes off the same order as the doors.

Barn doors

Surface mounted track and exposed hardware. Needs wall space beside the opening, no floor space at all.

Bifold doors

Closets and laundries where a full swing will not fit. Panel or louvered, single or double.

Bypassing doors

Two panels that pass each other on parallel tracks. The closet standard where floor space is tight.

Pocket doors

The door slides into the wall. Pocket frames come off the same order, sized to the finished wall.

Ball catch pairs

Double doors that latch at the head with no hardware on the face. Clean look for closets and dens.

Astragal units

Interior double doors with a T-astragal so one leaf leads and the pair closes tight and quiet.

Options & upgrade paths

What you can spec on the unit.

Each of these is an option in the portal, priced as you pick it, per opening or across the whole order.

Core and sound 1-3/8" hollow core for closets and secondary openings, solid core where the room wants quiet, and 1-3/4" solid core where a 20 or 90 minute fire rating is called for. Priced per opening, so you can upgrade the bedrooms without upgrading the whole house.
Glass options Clear, obscure, and reeded glass in French and single lite interiors, plus fixed glass panels over or beside an opening where a room needs light but not a door.
Barn, pocket, and bypass Surface mounted barn hardware, pocket frames, and bypass closet units. Call the opening out on the takeoff and the hardware comes on the same order.
Tall and oversized units Eight foot and taller doors for the openings that carry the ceiling height. Built to order, to your drawing.
Casing and jamb package Casing profile, jamb depth, and split jambs where the wall needs them. The trim ships with the doors instead of on a second order.
Ready for finish Paint-grade doors arrive primed, machined, and prehung, ready for your painter. Stain-grade wood doors arrive raw, ready for the finisher.

What dealers ask us.

That is the normal way we ship interiors. We do not do takeoffs, so we price from a list: your dealer builds the takeoff with the contractor or homeowner, with size, handing, jamb depth, and design per opening. Entered in the Design Portal, that list prices itself, and the units arrive labeled by opening.

Solid core on bedrooms and baths, hollow core on closets and secondary openings, is where most builders land. Solid core is the upgrade a homeowner notices when they close the door, even if they cannot name what changed.

Yes. Barn hardware, pocket frames, and bypass closet units all come off the same order as the rest of the order, so there is no separate hardware chase.

Yes. Seven foot and eight foot units are common now, and taller is a custom build out of our millwork shop. Send the opening height and we will tell you what the line covers and what we build.

Usually. Send photos and a couple of measurements, including a profile of the existing stile and panel, and our shop will tell you whether it is a match or a close approximation.

It can. Casing and the jamb package ship with the doors on one order, which is why dealers buy the whole opening from us.
