Why fiberglass

What fiberglass gives you.

Fiberglass entry doors give you the look of wood with none of its weather problems: no swelling, no rot, and no repainting every few years.

Compression molded fiberglass on all six sides, so there is no wood exposed anywhere on the door. Underneath, high density polyurethane foam and a full-length LVL on the hinge and strike side. We sell the whole opening as a system: Plastpro PF composite or Endura FrameSaver wood frames, a high-dam composite sill, weatherstrip and hardware prep. Glass and sidelite options quote live in the Design Portal.

What you can add.

Decorative doorglass Nouveau, Cadence, Pembrook and Waterside, running low to maximum privacy. Opticks textured glass in eight patterns, including Chinchilla, Rain and Micro-Granite.
Onyx and Nova 90 direct glazed Half, three-quarter and full lite. Onyx carries the black pigment through the fiberglass skin, so the color is built into the door rather than painted on; a top coat after installation keeps it looking sharp. Low-E 272 standard, HVHZ impact glass available.
Simulated divided lite Traditional SDL bars injection molded into the Evolve frame for a flush-to-glass fit, or a mill finish grille between the glass with wood muntin backing strips.
Enclosed blinds Blinds sealed between the glass in white and tan, plus espresso, sand, silver moon and slate gray as premium colors.
Multipoint locking Trilennium gives you three deadbolts on one turn. Endura PanoLock+ works with off-the-shelf and smart deadbolts, and held up in testing to 200 mph.
Astragals Endura Ultimate Flip Lever, Ultimate Push Button, or Ultimate Lite on twin and double units, in aluminum or wood veneer.
Trimmable series Trim up to 1" from each composite stile, 1/2" off the top rail and 1-1/2" off the bottom, so a retrofit opening needs no reconstruction.
Where it belongs

Exposed entries and humid markets.

West-facing front doors with no overhang. Coastal and high-humidity jobs. Painted or stained looks the homeowner never wants to sand again. Rental and spec work where a callback costs more than the door.

Yes. The grain is molded into the skin, and a stained fiberglass door reads as wood from the curb and from the porch. One thing to tell your crew: never sand textured fiberglass.

Yes. HVHZ impact glass is available on the Onyx and Nova 90 direct glazed models, which add wood blocking and a steel beam on the hinge and strike side. Impact rated doorglass is available on the decorative side.

The Trimmable series is built for it. Trim up to 1" from each composite stile, 1/2" off the top rail and 1-1/2" off the bottom rail, and you get the right height and width without rebuilding the opening.

We sell the opening as a system. Plastpro PF composite frames or Endura FrameSaver wood in 4-9/16" and 6-9/16", a high-dam composite sill in mill, bronze or satin nickel, weatherstrip, and hardware prep.

ODL's numbers: it blocks up to 61% of UV rays, so fabrics and carpets fade slower, and cuts as much as 71% of heat loss in cold weather.
