Why wood

Real wood, under an overhang.

Wood is the right entry when the opening is protected and the character has to be real. Under a porch or a deep overhang it lasts. On a west facing wall with no shelter, fiberglass is the better recommendation.

Tucker is the largest distributor of Rogue Valley Door products in the South. The line runs Craftsman, traditional and panel, French, beaded panel, and knotty alder, in 17 standard species. Species, panel layout, sticking profile, glass, and shape get specified per opening, which is why this line handles radius tops, oversized pairs, and historic matches no stock list covers. Machined and prehung in Monroe before it ships.

Construction Cope and stick, dowel pinned Classic cope and stick joinery with a 5/8" x 5" fluted dowel pinning every critical joint. Standard veneer is 1/16" and never thinner.
Species 17 standard species Alder, ash, birch, cherry, fir, hemlock, hickory, knotty alder, knotty pine, mahogany, maple, red oak, pine, poplar, walnut, white oak, and primed. If the architect named something else, ask.
Glass Two dozen treatments Clear and bevel through satin, delta frost, rain, reeded, glue chip, seedy baroque and sycamore. Caming in patina, zinc or brass. Insulated or single pane.
Sizes 6/8, 7/0 and 8/0 Widths run 1/6 through 4/0 depending on the design, with sidelites at 10" and 12". Unique sizes are built to order.

Species Choose from 17 standard wood species, ranging from fir and pine to mahogany, walnut, hickory, and white oak. Each species offers its own distinctive grain, color, character, and price point.
Panel and sticking profile Flat or raised panel, with ovolo, modified ovolo or square sticking. Profiles can be matched to what is already on the house.
Glass styles Choose from more than two dozen glass styles, including Clear, Bevel, Satin, Delta Frost, Rain, Reeded, Glue Chip, Seedy Baroque, and Sycamore. Decorative glass is available with Patina, Zinc, or Brass caming. Looking for something not shown? Ask us about additional glass options.
Rogue Premium upgrades Available upgrades include 1/4-inch veneer, solid laminated stiles and rails, stain-grade lumber, color-matched components, and face-pin inlays. Rogue Premium doors carry a five-year warranty.
Multipoint locking Endura Trilennium 3000 or 3070 gives three-point locking on a standard 1-3/4" door. Add the 3020 on the inactive panel of a pair and you are at seven points.
Astragals Endura Ultimate Flip Lever secures both bolts in one motion. The Multi-Point Astragal adds two locking points without buying a multipoint lock. Ultimate Trilennium pairs with the lock.
Trilennium hardware Eclipse, Horizon, Pinnacle, Rectangular and Curved sets in victorian bronze, bright brass, satin nickel or black. Levers or grip handles, SmartKey compatible.
Sidelites and transoms Sidelites at 10" and 12" to match the door design, plus rectangular and radius transoms, segment and arch tops built to the rough opening.

Wood doors need to be protected from the Sun and Rain with an appropriate overhang recommended to not void your warranty.

Usually not. Under a porch or a deep overhang, wood lasts and looks like nothing else. On a west facing wall with no shelter, fiberglass gives you the wood look without the swelling, the rot, and the seasonal repaint.

Lead times vary between stock doors and special order doors. Call for specific lead times for the door you have chosen.

Yes, and it is a large part of what this line is for. Radius and segment tops and oversized pairs. Send the drawing, or a photo and a tape measure.

Usually. Send photos, a couple of measurements, and a profile of the existing stile and panel, and our shop will tell you whether it is a match or a close approximation. For a true custom, we take your sketch to a CAD drawing, then to our craftsmen.

No. Rogue Valley doors are shipped unfinished and must be properly finished at the jobsite. All six sides of the door must be sealed to maintain warranty coverage.

The required overhang depends on the climate and the direction the door faces. In most climates, north- and east-facing doors require an overhang at least half the distance from the bottom of the door to the base of the overhang. South- and west-facing doors require a full-depth overhang. In wet climates, a full-depth overhang is required for every exposure. Wood doors are not recommended for south- or west-facing entries in desert climates. View Rogue Valley Door’s overhang requirements and calculation chart.

One year on exterior and fire door applications, ten years on interior, five years on Rogue Premium construction, and five years on the insulated glass seal. Exterior coverage depends on proper overhang, finishing all six edges, and routine maintenance.

Not much, so order the designated size. No more than 1/4" per side on width, 1/2" off the top, and 1-1/2" off the bottom, with a sharp fine tooth saw. Anything more and you are into the joinery.

Installing a storm door over a Rogue Valley wood door will void the warranty. Storm doors can trap excessive heat, causing the finish to deteriorate and wood components to shrink. For the same reason, very dark finishes are not recommended on sun-exposed entries.
