Fiberglass Doors Built for Southern Weather

Founded in 1994, Plastpro makes fiberglass entry doors focused on durability, energy efficiency, and design. Its collections include woodgrain textures, smooth surfaces, classic panel styles, and modern glass designs. Builders and homeowners can choose a look that fits the home with the low-maintenance benefits of fiberglass.

Plastpro’s HydroShield Technology helps protect the door from moisture and humidity on all six sides. Fiberglass skins and composite edges form the outer barrier, while a polyurethane foam core provides insulation. Plastpro also offers Polyfiber (PF) Frames, which use composite material to resist moisture, rot, and insects. Together, these features support a durable entry system with less upkeep.

Slab construction Composite Edges That Resist Moisture Plastpro uses composite material along the door’s sides, top, and bottom to help block moisture and resist rot and warping.
LVL reinforcement Full-Length Strength and Support Plastpro’s laminated veneer lumber (LVL) reinforcement runs the height of the door, adding strength and rigidity. The full-length lock block provides solid support for hardware and flexibility when choosing locks.

Plastpro’s Nova 90 Series combines a clean Shaker profile, brushed smooth finish, and direct-glazed glass that brings natural light into the home. ONYX Nova 90: Black Built Into the Door

ONYX is the Nova 90 with pigment carried through the fiberglass skin instead of paint on top of it. The contemporary black look, built into the finish.

The skin Pre-Pigmented ONYX Skin ONYX doors feature Plastpro’s exclusive pre-pigmented fiberglass skin where the rich black color is built into the door itself. Because the pigment permeates the entire skin, it won’t chip or flake like paint. Applying a top coat after installation ensures a long-lasting, low-maintenance finish that keeps your door looking vibrant and elegant for years.
Impact options Available With HVHZ Impact Glass Select ONYX Nova 90 configurations are available with HVHZ impact glass. HVHZ stands for High Velocity Hurricane Zone, a designation for areas with stricter hurricane wind and impact requirements. Ask Tucker about available options.

Plastpro builds an HVHZ impact door to the Dade and Broward standard, the strictest wind and impact requirement in the country. Thicker fiberglass skin, reinforced internal structure, and wood blocking, over the same HydroShield construction as the rest of the line.

Sound control STC Rated Assemblies Available STC-rated door assemblies help reduce noise for quieter indoor spaces. STC stands for Sound Transmission Class, a rating that measures how well a tested product blocks airborne sound. Higher ratings mean better sound control. Ask Tucker about options for your project’s sound requirements.
Glass options More Ways to Bring Light In Choose LowE 272 or Impact LowE 366 for clear views; Rain, Flemish, Chord, or Translucent for added privacy; or Mini Blinds for adjustable light and privacy control. Select Nova 90 configurations are also available with HVHZ impact glass.

HydroShield technology

HydroShield: Protection on All Six Sides

HydroShield encases the door in composite on every face, so moisture and humidity have nowhere to get in. No warping, delamination, corrosion, rotting, or mold and mildew buildup. Paired with a Polyfiber frame, the whole opening is composite.

1 Full length composite stiles and rails Water resistant top to bottom, protecting the door from external moisture infiltration. Their door exposed wood edges let moisture penetrate, and lower quality composite rails shorten the life span.
2 High density polyurethane foam core Adheres tightly to the skin for rigid structure with no room for condensation inside the door. Six times the insulation of a wood door, and better sound. Their door lower density PU or styrene foam leaves air gaps where mold and mildew grow.
3 Full length lock block Any lock or hardware can be placed anywhere, and the block adds structure and rigidity to the door. Their door an average 12 in. wood lock block limits hardware placement and gives less support.
4 Polyfiber (PF) frame Water resistant, twice the screw holding power, and 25 percent more rigid than wood. Their door wood frames crack and rot, and a finger jointed frame is not one continuous piece.

Wood frames rot. Steel frames rust and dent. The Polyfiber frame installs the same way as a wood frame, with none of that.

Finishing Plastpro Doors on Site

Staining

Surface preparation
  • Lay the door horizontally on sawhorses or a table.
  • Remove all hardware and mask off anything you do not want stained, such as the glass insert.
  • Do not sand textured fiberglass.
  • Wipe the door with mineral spirits to clean off dust or residue. Let the surface dry completely before applying stain.

Surface preparation
  • Lay the door horizontally on sawhorses or a table.
  • Remove all hardware and mask off anything you do not want painted, such as the glass insert.
  • Smooth doors only: lightly scuff the surface with a fine Scotch Brite pad or fine sandpaper. Do not sand textured fiberglass.
  • Wipe the door with mineral spirits to clean off dust or residue, and let the surface dry before applying.
  • Do not use hydrocarbon based solvents to clean the surface. They can leave a residue.
Normal maintenance Re-applying the topcoat roughly every two years is normal. Even a well finished fiberglass door is affected by sun, moisture, and air pollutants.
Caution Read and follow all of the manufacturer's safe use instructions before using any chemical product.

Six sided moisture protection, composite stiles and rails, and PF frames that do not rot. In Georgia and Virginia humidity, that is the door that comes back the least.

Quote it through your rep or the Design Portal. We machine and prehang it in Monroe, Richmond, or Albany and it ships on your regular Tucker route. Your rep will give you a real date before you promise one.

Yes. Machining and prehanging happen here before the unit is staged for your delivery.

Smooth takes paint and is the usual choice for a painted opening. Woodgrain is molded for stain and reads as wood from the porch. Both are the same construction underneath.

Endura by Masonite ZAC sill and Plastpro composite PF frame. The composite jamb is the point: nothing in the leg sitting in the weather rots.

Yes. Doubles, single with one or two sidelites, and transoms. Send the rough opening and we will configure the unit to it.
